I offer a specialist script consultancy service focused on Anglicising international screenplays and theatrical works. This goes far beyond swapping “color” for “colour” or “elevator” for “lift.” I dig into the subtleties of British English — the idioms, rhythms, humour, and cultural references that help a script truly resonate with UK readers and viewers.
Born and raised in the North East of England before spending most of my adult life in London, my British identity provides an authentic, lived understanding of regional dialects and cultural nuance across the UK, enriched by a truly global outlook having lived and worked in several countries. From regional dialects to class nuances, I know how to tune a script so that it not only sounds right but feels rooted in place and character.
This work draws on two decades of industry experience across multiple markets. My plays have been staged in London, New York, and Texas, and I’ve written for primetime television in the UK, the US, and New Zealand, and have sold feature film screenplays to a major studio. I hold an MA in Writing for Screen & Stage from Regent’s University London and have also studied on the UCLA Writers’ Program. I understand the unique challenges of writing across cultures — and I know how to bring a script into alignment with the expectations and nuances of the British market without losing what makes it special.
