ALMOST THE BIRTHDAY PARTY CELEBRATES A TRIUMPHANT RETURN

I’m thrilled by the fantastic response to Almost The Birthday Party during its recent run at London’s Old Red Lion Theatre as part of GrimFest. Originally a short play that premiered at the Etcetera Theatre in 2014, this dark, Pinteresque comedy has since enjoyed various productions across the UK. Now, a decade on, it’s been a joy to revisit the play and expand the story to its full conclusion.

Acclaimed West End director Scott Le Crass returned to helm this newly extended, hour-long version, bringing in Bernard O'Sullivan and John Rayment, whose performances added fresh layers to the play’s unsettling humour. I’m incredibly grateful to the entire team for their talent and dedication.

A huge thank you to the Old Red Lion Theatre for hosting this tenth-anniversary revival of a play that holds a special place in my heart. It’s been so rewarding to see audiences and critics connect with this fever dream once again. Here’s to Almost The Birthday Party - as absurd as ever, ten years on!
